I was terminated after 2 years from pain management due to abnormal drug screens. These were caused by my purchasing 30mg oxycodone tablets online which were fake and contained fentanyl and cocaine. I went to methadone clinic and have been stable on maintenance for a year plus. I have recently been diagnosed with an incurable terminal illness, at my stage it’s got a 10% survival rate over 5 years. The methadone maintenance provides some relief for my pain, but it is worsening and I’d like to return to pain management. Will any pain doctor accept me for palliative care despite my previous issue? Thank you for any advice.
